As one of Medelita’s HIP ambassadors, I recently got the chance to write a blog post about one of my experiences in medicine. I chose to write about how to achieve a successful work-study balance for a variety of reasons, but mainly because now-a-days there are so many people who end up having to work while attending school (thanks rising costs of education). Or, if you’re pre-PA, often times you need to work to get your patient care hours for applying.
I personally worked for 2 years as a CNA, and while it was an amazing experience, it was incredibly hard at first to feel like I had enough time to get everything done. But, by the end of my experience I felt like I had gotten my feet under me. I shared my top 5 tips on how to excel as both a student and employee, so head over to Medelita’s Blog to read the full article!
While your there, make sure to check out Medelita’s line of scrubs and whitecoats. I won an embroidered lab coat from them recently, and while I can’t wear it yet (it’s a long coat), it seems amazing! I also reviewed their Women’s Modern Fit scrubs recently, and they’re definitely high on my list of favorite scrubs. I can’t wait to be able to wear them on rotations (I wear business profession for this rotation). I also love that this company was founded by a PA-C, because it just goes to show that you can be so much more than “just a provider” and that your life can be filled with more than just medicine. There are a ton of other inspiration people out there (you can check out a list of some people I follow on instagram on my FAQ page).
And as always, feel free to follow me on social media to get more of a daily look as I try to survive life with a stethoscope and some sparkle.
P.S. – I’ve been having a ton of people reach out to me to talk about the best headphones to use so they can more easily focus while studying. HERE is a great review site that breaks down the best on-ear, in-ear, over-ear, and true wireless. I seriously wish I would have found an article like this before buying my headphones, so definitely make sure to check it out!
